The Pre-Workout Supplements world was thrown into the spotlight in 2013 and again in 2015 when hyperosmolar sports supplements were recognised to be contributing a small, but significant number of deaths during marathons.

With the risk of heart attack from certain high intensity supplements real and present, many athletes and bodybuilders turned to coffee to get a natural energy boost.

Drinking coffee before you hit the gym can pump your body with the necessary energy - True.

But there is one small, but very important problem…

The energy boost of coffee comes with an impending crash, which is inevitable and which can make you feel more tired than you actually are, until you gulp down another cup. Then you’ll feel energetic for a while, but that too will come with a crash. And you’ll have to drink another cup of coffee. And then another. And then another….

Fortunately there a better alternative to being at the mercy of coffee and it’s 100% natural and organic. It’s called Matcha Tea.

Matcha Tea can increase your endurance, boost your metabolism and help shed the unwanted body fat – all the three things you need to get the most out of your exercise.

“With just 1 cup before your workout, you can get all the benefits that you have been getting from coffee, minus the crash. You will have a massive boost of energy, endurance, and even burn calories fast, but it’s released slowly and there’s no crash!”

Studies show that drinking matcha increases physical endurance by up to 25%. Just one cup of matcha just half an hour before your workout can give you results you didn’t think were possible. One serving of it before your workout will not only fuel your body but also help maintain it.

If you are trying to lose weight, matcha is a great pre workout drink for weight loss. It’s 100% natural and safe for almost everyone. It naturally increases the heat production process (thermogenesis) of your body during cardio and resistance training. This makes the body burn more calories. Up to 4 times more calories. Some say that drinking matcha has increased their metabolism up to 30-40%.

Drinking matcha tea before your workout can:

  • Increase the intensity of your workout
  • Reduce muscle-fatigue
  • Gives you energy – the key to a successful workouts
  • Reduce your mental fatigue as well, help you stay focused on your workout

Why is matcha the best pre-workout drink?

For these simple reasons:

Matcha Boosts Metabolism

Naturally boosting the metabolism is one of the best things that matcha does for your body. Matcha has enormous amounts of antioxidants in it. The antioxidants in matcha amp up your metabolism. Although it hasn’t yet been determined exactly how they do it. Researchers are of the opinion that when you are exercising, matcha makes fat more available as fuel, so your body oxidises more of it. There are some very heart-healthy antioxidants in matcha called catechins. A study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition has shown that green tea can increase the body’s natural calorie-burning rate by almost 400%. And matcha is even healthier than green tea. So imagine what matcha can do!

Boosts The Body’s Fat Oxidation Process

According to a study published in the National Institute of Health, green tea has been shown to boost the body’s rate of fat oxidation by up to 17%. This proves that green tea actually increases the fat-burning process of the body and helps the body utilise the fat as a source of energy. The main antioxidant in tea helps restrict a particular enzyme which heralds the breakdown of fat cells.

Boosts Physical Endurance

Researches opine that this quality of green tea is closely related to the metabolism-boosting capability. The longer availability of fuel leads to greater endurance and that helps you exercise for longer. You are able to get more out of your exercise (burn more fat) when you drink matcha before you exercise.

Makes You Healthier

One of the best things that matcha tea does is that it improves your overall health. After all, no matter how much you exercise or how many kilos you shed, the objective is to be healthier. Not only does matcha tea make you feel healthier, it improves your overall health. It actually has zero side effects. So on top making you more energised than before, it also leads you to your optimum health.

Who Can Drink Matcha?

Anyone and everyone. Whether you are trying to lose weight, bulk up, tone up, just have a fit body or just want to be healthy, matcha tea gives you the right kind of nutrition and health benefits that you need. It’s a superfood with an ORAC value of 1384.

The Great Detoxifier

Diet and weight loss are not the only parts that make up a health regime. Detoxification is an essential part of it. Matcha tea is an amazing detoxifier. It’s better than the best detox tea out there. You actually don’t need any other supplement, health drink or pre-workout drink ever when you have matcha to support you. It’s been helping the Japanese stay healthy for 800 years.

Here’s how to make it and here’s how to make it if you don’t have the necessary tools to make it. Drink it cold at least 30 minutes before your work and make sure to drink 3 cups a day for an enhanced metabolism. Matcha is a great homemade pre workout drink. You just need to add water to make a steaming bowlful of matcha. Nothing else.

By committing only a few minutes to drink matcha every day, you can actually make a long-term commitment towards boosted metabolism. This is not something that you can get from coffee.

I am working out in the morning when I wake up (around 5:30-6 am) because I start to work early. I can’t wait 30 min after drinking the matcha tea so I am drinking after the workout. I was thinking maybe I should just simply drinking before and not waiting the 30 minutes. What is the best? Thank you
