The Chansen (Bamboo Whisk) is the most important tool for making Matcha. This handmade Chasen is made of one piece of natural bamboo crafted into 100 fine bristles with 70 prongs around the outside and 30 prongs within. It helps to whisk Matcha powder into frothy lather and brings out the inner mellow of the tea.
How to use it:
It is recommended to sift Matcha powder for better lather, and moist your Chasen with warm water to soften it. Place 1 teaspoon of Matcha powder in Chawan or tea bowl. Pour in about 70ml of water at 80°C. Using the Chasen, quickly whisk Matcha in direction of writing "W" until you obtain a frothy lather.
