Each insulated, double wall glass bowl is handmade by expert artisans. This glass is mouth-blown, so each bowl will have slight differences in height, thickness & weight.
Borosilicate glass is different and truly exceptional. It is highly durable, strong and heat-resistant glass, but weighs less than traditional glassware. This is the glass that is used in high-tech scientific work as is stronger than traditional "soda-lime" glass and is now being used in drinkware and cookware when both style and strength are essential.
Borosilicate glass uses boron oxide as a glue holding the silicate together and due to the small size of boron particles, the glass is held together tighter, resulting in a stronger glass.
At first, you may perceive the glass to be "delicate" as you hold it and notice the difference between borosilicate and soda-lime glass. Borosilicate glass simply doesn't need to be as thick as traditional glass to be just as strong and because the particles are held together so tightly borosilicate glass is much more resistant to temperature swings and scratching,
This borosilicate glass chawan is dishwasher safe and does not become cloudy over time; even after 100 cycles, the glass can be as clear as the day you bought it.
